Hair Types and Its Care

How To Care For Different Hair Types

Hair is the most striking feature of a person. With straightening wands and curling irons we can  flaunt  a silky sleek look on one day while going for big bouncy curls the next.  But when it comes to hair care we cannot go wrong with our natural hair type as different hair types need different care. Today we will be talking about the 3 different hair types that are predominant although there may be many variations to the curly and wavy types.

Straight beauty

Straight haired girls are considered to be the lucky ones.  Their hair structure allows sebum(natural hair oils) to travel easily along the hair shaft providing natural protection to hair. Light bouncing off the hair gives the appearance of healthy hair that glows which we all crave.  But straight hair comes with its own problems. Hair has a tendency to look oily and limp. It may lie flat on your head and lack the bouncy fun that curlies enjoy. Washing hair often can with mild shampoo and little or no conditioner can combat oiliness. Instead of always reaching for the curling iron which is quite damaging to hair, you can opt for more natural ways like:

  1. Simply braiding your hair before going to sleep braiding
  2. Taking that bottle of mousse and scrunch you hair for dimension.
  3. Asymmetric  haircuts and layers brings body and bounce.

As straight hair is prone to split ends, you should get regular trims and using less heat and pressure on hair.

Wavy belle

Among  different hair types, wavy haired beauties enjoy the best of both worlds. They have hair that is neither too straight nor too curly- natural beach waves all year long! Wavy hair emanates a youthful aura and is very easy to style.  It imparts sheen, but not as much as straight hair. Sometimes wavy hair struggles with lack of volume on the crown, but it is nothing some volumizing spray can’t sort out . Wavy hair is prone to frizz, frizz and humidity protection is a must. Deep conditioning twice a month can keep your hair healthy and glowing.

  1. Wavy hair looks best when parted in the middle.
  2. Choose a mild shampoo, preferably organic, followed up with lots of conditioner.
  3. Use a bit of Argan oil from centre to tip for added shine.
  4. Keep your hands off your hair to keep frizz at bay.

Curly Peach

The perfect curls grab the centre spot wherever they go! Not everyone is born with the luxury of curls so girls, wear it with pride. With a little maintenance and the right products, curls go a long way in making you look lovely and young. Due to its irregular shape, curls grapple to steer the sebum along the hair shaft giving off a dry look. Curly hair is thus unarmed against environmental perils and more prone to damage. A penetrating oil massage(coconut oil and olive oil are the best options) hair can impart strength and nourishment. Oils also help hair to grow and aids in breaking down the unused sebum from the scalp. Give ample time for the oils to soak up for best results. While washing the hair shampoo only the scalp and be generous with the conditioner.

Our store have different curly types including Brazilian Curly , Indian Curly etc.

  1. Choose shampoos that are free of Silicones, Sulfates or Parabens, your hair need gentle care .
  2. Choose a conditioner that is detangling, moisturizing and restoring.
  3. Detangle your hair only when it is wet, preferably with a protective coating. Brushing dry hair causes damages and frizz.
  4. Pomades can give your hair the much needed sheen.

They may be many different hair types, but no one type is perfect. Love your hair by celebrating the pros and gently mending its flaws, and your hair will prove you proud.
